The anime, produced by P.A. Works for its 25th anniversary, delves into a unique science-fiction romance. The story centers on Akira Himegami, a high school student who awakens from a 200-year cryogenic sleep to a world drastically altered by war. In this new era, society is governed by an organization called OWEL, and the traditional concept of marriage has been replaced by a system known as “Elsie.” Akira’s journey begins when he encounters an android named Yuugure, who bears a striking resemblance to his girlfriend, Towasa, and surprisingly proposes marriage to him. Believing Towasa to still be alive, Akira embarks on a quest with Yuugure to find her, navigating the complexities of love and identity in this changed world.
