The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Hiromu and raemz’s popular light novel series, Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle (Chitose-kun wa Ramune Bin no Naka), is set to premiere on October 7 at 18:00 JST. The announcement, made via the anime’s main promotional video and official website, also revealed that the series will air as a split two-cour broadcast, indicating a planned break between its two parts.

October 7 Premiere and Broadcast Details

Fans can mark their calendars for October 7 for the initial broadcast of Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle. The series will debut on multiple Japanese television networks, including AT-X, Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, Fukui Broadcasting, TV Aichi, and BS11. The decision for a split two-cour run means the anime will air for a season, go on hiatus, and then return for its second part, a common practice for series aiming for higher production quality or longer narrative arcs.

Theme Songs and New Cast Members Revealed

The main promotional video not only confirmed the premiere date and broadcast format but also offered a preview of the anime’s musical themes and introduced additional voice cast members. Kucci will perform the opening theme song titled “Liar,” while Cidergirl is set to perform the ending theme song “Kagerō” (Heat Haze).

Two new additions to the cast were also unveiled: Yohei Azakami will voice Kuranosuke Iwanami, and Masaya Miyazaki will take on the role of Kenta Yamazaki. These new cast members join an already announced lineup, including Shōgo Sakata as the protagonist Saku Chitose, Manaka Iwami as Yuko Hiiragi, Hina Yomiya as Yua Uchida, Ikumi Hasegawa as Yuzuki Nanase, Rumi Ōkubo as Haru Aomi, and Chika Anzai as Asuka Nishino.

Production Team and Studio Feel.

The anime is being brought to life by studio feel., known for its work on various animated series. Yuji Tokuno is directing the series, with Naruhisa Arakawa handling the series composition. Arakawa is also co-writing the scripts alongside the original author, Hiromu. Character designs are being handled by Sumie Kinoshita. The adaptation was initially announced on August 9, 2024, with a general 2025 release window.

The Story of Saku Chitose and “Team Chitose”

Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle is a romantic comedy light novel series penned by Hiromu and illustrated by raemz. It began serialization in June 2019 under Shogakukan’s Gagaga Bunko imprint. Yen Press has licensed both the original light novel series and its manga adaptation by Bobcat for English publication, providing an accessible way for international audiences to enjoy the story.

The plot centers around Saku Chitose, a high school student at Fujishi High, one of the prefecture’s top preparatory schools. Saku is exceptionally gifted in academics, sports, and social skills, making him the most popular student. His seemingly perfect life takes a turn when a teacher asks him to help a withdrawn student, Kenta Yamazaki, reintegrate into school life. The series follows Saku and his group of popular friends, affectionately known as “Team Chitose,” as they navigate high school and assist other students with their challenges, all set against the backdrop of Fukui prefecture. The story promises an emotional coming-of-age narrative.
