The Story of Scarlet, the “Mad Dog Princess”
The anime adapts Nana Ōtori’s light novel series, illustrated by Satsuki, and its manga adaptation by Sora Hoonoki. The plot centers on Scarlet El Vandimion, a noblewoman whose engagement to the kingdom’s second prince, Kyle, is suddenly and publicly annulled at a ball. Falsely accused of bullying and labeled a “Villainess,” Scarlet has endured years of mistreatment. However, reaching her breaking point, she unleashes her true, formidable personality, earning her the moniker “Mad Dog Princess.”
The series promises a thrilling revenge story as Scarlet confronts high society with both her intellect and combat skills, attracting the attention of the enigmatic Crown Prince Julius von Pallistan.
Production Team Behind the Adaptation
Liden Films Kyoto Studio is handling the animation production, with Kazuya Sakamoto (known for KAGINADO) directing the series. Deko Akao (Tearmoon Empire) is in charge of series composition, while Eriko Haga (Gods’ Games We Play sub-character design) is designing the characters. The music is being composed by Hinako Tsubakiyama (Sugar Apple Fairy Tale). Satoshi Motoyama is serving as the Sound Director.
The opening theme song, “Senjō no Hana” (Flower of the Battlefield), is performed by CHICO with HoneyWorks, and the ending theme is “Inferior” by Shiyui.
With its intriguing premise, a talented cast, and experienced production team, “May I Ask for One Final Thing?” is set to be a notable entry in the Fall 2025 anime lineup.
