Tokyo, Japan – The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider has unveiled new details, including four additional cast members, a third promotional video, and a vibrant new key visual. These announcements build excitement for the series, which is set to premiere on October 4, 2025.

The anime, based on Yokusaru Shibata’s tokusatsu-themed seinen manga, centers on Tanzaburo Tojima, a 40-year-old man with an unwavering dream of becoming a Kamen Rider. Just as he considers abandoning his lifelong ambition, a fateful encounter with a robber dramatically alters his destiny.

New Voices Join the Cast of Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider

The latest reveal introduces four new voice actors who will lend their talents to key characters in the upcoming series. Veteran voice actor Kenjiro Tsuda, known for his role as Nanami in JUJUTSU KAISEN, joins the cast as Hachiro Nakao.

The newly announced cast members and their respective roles are:

  • Ai Kayano as Yuriko Okada
  • Kenichi Suzumura as Ichiyo Shimamura
  • Sōma Saitō as Mitsuha Shimamura
  • Fairouz Ai as Yukarisu
  • Satoshi Tsuruoka as Satoshi Ito
  • Fukushi Ochiai as Fukushi Ishige
  • Daisuke Sakaguchi as Daisuke Sato

These additions join Katsuyuki Konishi, who was previously announced as the voice of the titular protagonist, Tanzaburo Tojima. Konishi has expressed his enthusiasm for the project, noting his admiration for Shibata’s original manga and the passionate work of the cast and crew.

Third Promotional Video Offers Action-Packed Glimpse

The newly released third promotional video provides fans with an extended look at the anime’s action sequences, character interactions, and overall tone. The video showcases the animation style of LIDEN FILMS, the studio responsible for the adaptation, and highlights the blend of humor and heartfelt dedication that defines Tojima’s journey.

This follows earlier promotional videos that offered initial glimpses into the world of the anime. The PVs have consistently emphasized Tojima’s intense passion for the Kamen Rider franchise and the unexpected turn his life takes.

A Dynamic New Key Visual Released

Accompanying the trailer is a fresh key visual that captures the essence of Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider. The visual features a dynamic composition, likely showcasing Tojima in his heroic aspirations alongside other central characters, hinting at the challenges and triumphs awaiting him.

Previous visuals have also been released, setting the stage for the series and introducing the concept of a 40-year-old man earnestly pursuing his Kamen Rider dream.

Production Details and Premiere Information

The anime is directed by Takahiro Ikezoe (Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion) at LIDEN FILMS. Touko Machida (YAIBA: Samurai Legend) is handling the series composition, with Cindy H. Yamauchi (Akudama Drive) designing the characters, and TeddyLoid (Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt) composing the music.

Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider is slated to begin broadcasting in Japan on Tokyo MX and other networks on October 4, 2025, at 24:30 JST (effectively, October 5 at 12:30 a.m.). Crunchyroll has confirmed that it will stream the series as part of its Fall 2025 anime lineup, making it accessible to international audiences. The opening theme song, “Wanna be,” is performed by TeddyLoid featuring Shigeru Matsuzaki and TOPHAMHAT-KYO of FAKE TYPE.

The original manga, written and illustrated by Yokusaru Shibata in cooperation with Toei and Ishimori Productions, began serialization in Monthly Hero’s magazine in May 2018 and later moved to the Comiplex website. Hero’s Inc. continues to publish the manga in their Comiplex digital manga magazine.
