A new video for the anime adaptation of Naru Narumi’s manga, “Watari-kun’s Is About to Collapse” (Watari-kun no xx ga Hōkaisunzen), has unveiled the theme songs for its second part and confirmed an October 3 debut for the next installment.
The romantic comedy series, which began airing on July 5, 2025, will continue its 26-episode run with new musical accompaniments for its upcoming cour.
Second Part Introduces New Musical Talent
The newly released promotional material confirmed that the second part of “Watari-kun’s Is About to Collapse” will feature fresh theme songs. shallm will perform the new opening theme, while Yurina Hirate is set to perform the new ending theme. These new additions follow the first part’s successful musical contributions. The initial opening theme, “Yuurei ni Naritai” (I Want to be a Ghost), was performed by Yuika, and the ending theme, “Ai Ai Ai Ai Ai” (Love Love Love Love Love), was performed by PEDRO. PEDRO’s ending theme even received an anime music video showcasing highlights from the series.

Fans can mark their calendars for October 3, as the second part of the anime is slated to premiere on this date. The series initially launched on Tokyo MX and other networks, with Crunchyroll streaming the episodes for international audiences in regions including North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, the Indian Subcontinent, and Southeast Asia. New episodes have consistently premiered on Fridays. The anime is designed to run for 26 episodes across two cours.

“Watari-kun’s Is About to Collapse” adapts Naru Narumi’s romantic comedy manga, which concluded its serialization in September 2023 with 16 volumes. The story centers on Naoto Watari, a young man dedicated to his younger sister, Suzushiro, after the passing of their parents two years prior. His life takes a dramatic turn with the return of Satsuki, a chaotic childhood friend, whose presence reignites buried memories and disrupts Naoto’s carefully constructed routine. This re-entry into his life sets off a series of events that create tension between Naoto, Suzushiro, and Satsuki, threatening to unravel his seemingly stable world.
The anime is produced by Staple Entertainment and directed by Takashi Naoya. Tatsuya Takahashi handles the series composition, with Shōko Yasuda responsible for character designs. The voice cast features Shūichirō Umeda as Naoto Watari, Yumika Yano as Satsuki Tachibana, and Yurie Igoma as Yukari Ishihara.
