The official promotional video for Let This Grieving Soul Retire! Season 2 has announced an October 6 premiere date for the highly anticipated anime, while also offering a preview of its new opening and ending theme songs.

Fans can look forward to new musical contributions from Kiyono Yasuno, performing the opening theme, and the idol unit i☆Ris, who will handle the ending theme for the second season.

Premiere Details and Broadcast Information

Let This Grieving Soul Retire! Season 2 is slated to begin its broadcast on October 6, 2025. The series will air on several Japanese television channels, including MBS, Tokyo MX, BS NTV, Sun TV, and AT-X. Crunchyroll will stream the second season internationally, continuing its coverage from the first season. The first season, which consisted of 13 episodes, originally aired from October to December 2024.

New Theme Songs Unveiled

The latest promotional video confirms the artists and titles for the upcoming season’s theme songs:

  • Opening Theme: “Algorithm” by Kiyono Yasuno. Yasuno is known for her work on various anime theme songs.
  • Ending Theme: “Yume no Hitokakera” (Fragment of a Dream) by i☆Ris. Members of i☆Ris, Miyu Kubota and Yū Serizawa, also voice main characters Tino Shade and Kris Argent, respectively, in the anime.

The first season featured “Kattō Tomorrow” (Conflict Tomorrow) by Lezel as its opening theme and “Scream!” by Pmarusama as its ending theme.

What to Expect from Season 2

The Let This Grieving Soul Retire! anime adapts the light novel series by Tsukikage and illustrated by Chyko. The story follows Krai Andrey, the perceived leader of the elite treasure hunter party “The Grieving Souls,” who is widely believed to be the strongest and most cunning adventurer. In reality, Krai is a reluctant and rather weak individual whose success is largely due to his overwhelmingly powerful friends and an uncanny streak of luck, leading to hilarious misunderstandings and ever-increasing responsibilities that he desperately tries to avoid.

The second season is expected to continue Krai’s misadventures as he inadvertently rises higher in the world of treasure hunting, despite his constant desire to retire. The animation studio Zero-G, with Masahiro Takata directing, Hideki Shirane handling series scripts, and Yūsuke Isouchi and Shingo Fujisaki on character designs, will return to produce the second season.
