The multimedia franchise “Toxic-a-Holic,” a collaborative project between Kadokawa and Earth Star Entertainment, is set to inspire a new manga spinoff titled Toxic-a-Holic Alternate Episode. The announcement was made in the October issue of Kadokawa’s Comic Gene magazine last Friday, with the manga slated for an October 15 debut in the magazine’s next issue.
Diving into the “Toxic-a-Holic” World
Launched in November 2024 by Kadokawa and Earth Star Entertainment, the “Toxic-a-Holic” franchise centers on a unique premise: “toxic boys” who embody various toxic and poisonous substances. Humanity enlists these individuals to combat a mysterious invading entity known as “void.” Acknowledging the public’s understandable apprehension towards these “toxic boys,” the Tokyo branch of their organization actively works to improve their image through public relations videos aimed at increasing their popularity.
Key Creative Team Behind the Manga
For Toxic-a-Holic Alternate Episode, Shinki is credited with drawing the manga, while Teiko Sasaki is responsible for the composition. The debut chapter in Comic Gene will feature a color opening page. Teiko Sasaki has previous experience in the manga industry, with Digital Manga Publishing releasing their Kissing manga in English back in 2006.
The Franchise’s Expanding Reach
Since its launch, the “Toxic-a-Holic” project has been actively expanding its presence. The franchise has seen various initiatives, including the release of a character song album titled Toxic-a-Holic Character Song Album “Vox Venena Vo.1” on September 24, 2025. This album features popular male voice actors and trending artists contributing to “addictive character songs.” Furthermore, a pop-up shop for “Toxic-a-Holic” was held at Ikebukuro P’PARCO in Tokyo from April 19 to April 30, 2025, offering exclusive character goods and purchase bonuses. The franchise has also hosted fan events, with one such event, “Toxic-a-Holic Fan Party,” announced for a future date.
The addition of Toxic-a-Holic Alternate Episode to the franchise’s growing list of media underscores the increasing momentum and dedicated fanbase surrounding this unique concept.
