A Glimpse Back at the First Season
The initial season captivated audiences with its charming narrative centered around high school second-year Mizuha Nishino. Her 17th birthday is far from ideal: her parents forget, and her crush shows no interest. Adding to her woes, a global pandemic causes the cancellation of school events, dimming her hopes for a vibrant youth. However, her life takes an unexpected turn when her childhood friend, Kizuki, suddenly confesses his feelings and asks to be her boyfriend. The series explores the evolving relationships between Mizuha and her four childhood friends, who have always been like family.
The Manga’s Enduring Popularity
Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You is based on the manga by Haruka Mitsui, which began serialization in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine in October/November 2020. Kodansha USA Publishing releases the manga in English, allowing international fans to follow Mizuha’s journey from its original source. The manga has garnered a significant following, with over 1.25 million copies in circulation, including digital copies.
The second season is expected to delve deeper into the intricate emotional landscape established in the first, exploring new relationships and challenges for Mizuha and her friends as they navigate the complexities of love and growing up.
