Production Team and Thematic Elements
The anime is an original work credited to “Project FT” and is being animated by studio P.A. WORKS, a significant project as the studio celebrates its 25th anniversary. Naokatsu Tsuda, known for his work on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, is helming the project as both director and series composer. Manga artist Midori Tayama (Girl Crush) is credited with the original character designs, which are then adapted for animation by Yoshiko Saito (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation). The musical score for the series is being composed by Masahiro Tokuda. Additionally, Uru will perform the opening theme song, “Platform.”
HIDIVE describes the compelling premise of Dusk Beyond the End of the World as a narrative exploring “love” in a rapidly changing society. The story delves into a world transformed by technological innovations, including evolving AI, and societal shifts concerning gender, race, and compliance. It aims to portray the multifaceted expressions of love, including those between humans and robots, showcasing these emotions in ways that are sometimes beautiful, brutal, or comical, while questioning the longevity of such bonds.
