About the Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods Series
Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods (Japanese: Kami no Niwatsuki Kusunoki-tei) originated as a light novel series written by Enju and illustrated by ox. It began serialization on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō in April 2021 before being acquired by ASCII Media Works for full publication later that year. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Akira Anzai, also commenced serialization in November 2021 on Kadokawa’s ComicWalker website.
The series follows Minato Kusunoki as he navigates a peaceful life surrounded by spiritual entities. Yen Press, the English publisher for the light novels, describes the story as the Kusunoki household becoming “more lively and divine than ever” with the arrival of various gods. The garden itself transforms at the whim of the Yamagami, leading to leisurely days of cherry blossoms and seasonal delicacies for Minato and the other residents. The anime adaptation was officially announced on July 14, 2025, and is slated for a 2026 release.
