The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the television anime adaptation of Hawkman and Mecha-Roots’ Nyaight of the Living Cat manga announced today that veteran voice actors Hiroshi Kamiya and Toshihiko Seki will join the cast for its upcoming 12th and final episode. Fans are eager to discover the mystery roles these prominent seiyuu will undertake in the series’ conclusion.

Anime’s Climax Features Renowned Voice Talent

The addition of Hiroshi Kamiya and Toshihiko Seki for the final episode brings a significant boost of star power to the comedic horror-survival anime. While their specific characters remain under wraps, the announcement has fueled speculation among viewers keen to see how their talents will contribute to the show’s climactic events. The 12th episode is set to stream on Abema Premium on Monday.

Who are Hiroshi Kamiya and Toshihiko Seki?

Hiroshi Kamiya is a highly acclaimed voice actor known for an extensive range of iconic roles, including Levi Ackerman in Attack on Titan, Izaya Orihara in Durarara!!, and Trafalgar Law in One Piece. He has won numerous awards for his performances, establishing himself as a versatile and beloved figure in the anime industry.

Toshihiko Seki also boasts an impressive career, having voiced characters such as Duo Maxwell in Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Iruka Umino in Naruto, and Muzan Kibutsuji in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. His distinctive voice and powerful portrayals have made him a staple in many fan-favorite series.

“Nyaight of the Living Cat” Overview: A Feline Apocalypse

Nyaight of the Living Cat (also known as Night of the Living Cat) presents a unique twist on the post-apocalyptic genre. The story centers around a mysterious virus that transforms humans into cats upon physical contact. Survivors must navigate a world overrun by adorable, yet dangerous, feline hordes, all while battling the irresistible urge to cuddle them.

The anime, which blends elements of action, comedy, horror, and thriller, premiered on the Abema Premium streaming service on July 6 at 11:00 p.m. JST. Crunchyroll is broadcasting the series globally across North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, the Indian subcontinent, and various parts of Asia, including an English dub.

Production and Creative Team

The series is produced by OLM, with Takashi Miike serving as chief director and Tomohiro Kamitani as director. Shingo Irie is responsible for the series scripts, and Takao Maki handles character designs. Kōji Endō composes the music, contributing to the show’s distinctive atmosphere.

The opening theme song, “Cat City,” is performed by the rock band THE YELLOW MONKEY, while the ending theme, “Matatabi,” is provided by the punk rock band WANIMA. Each episode also features a unique segment offering insights into living with cats, adding a charming educational touch to the feline-infested chaos.

Main Cast and Story Arc

The primary Japanese voice cast includes Masaaki Mizunaka as Kunagi, the amnesiac cat lover, Reina Ueda as Kaoru, a strong-willed cat cafe employee, and Reiji Kawashima as Arata. The English dub features Jason Douglas as Kunagi, Maria Delilah as Kaoru, and Lew Temple as Tanishi. These characters grapple with the “nyandemic,” fighting for survival while resisting the inherent human desire to embrace the very creatures that pose the greatest threat to their humanity.
