Renowned manga creator Hiroya Oku, known for his impactful works such as Gantz and Inuyashiki, is set to launch a new manga series titled Kanrekihime (60-Year-Old Princess) on December 26. The announcement was made in this year’s 20th issue of Shogakukan’s Big Comic Superior magazine, revealing that the series will debut in the magazine’s second 2026 issue.

The highly anticipated new series, whose title Kanrekihime translates to “60-Year-Old Princess,” marks Oku’s first new manga since the conclusion of his series GIGANT four years ago. Hiroya Oku’s Illustrious Career
Hiroya Oku has a distinguished career marked by intricate narratives and distinctive art, often employing digital processing for backgrounds. His most famous work, Gantz, serialized from 2000 to 2013, gained significant critical and commercial success, inspiring a television anime, a CG anime film, two Japanese live-action films, and several spinoff manga.
