K-pop sensation (G)I-DLE and popular Japanese artist imase are set to contribute new theme songs to the Beyblade X anime, with their tracks debuting as the series enters its third season on October 24. (G)I-DLE will provide the new opening theme, “Invincible,” while imase will perform the ending theme, “Uzu” (meaning “Vortex”).

The announcement marks a fresh musical chapter for the Beyblade X anime, which has previously featured a lineup of prominent artists.

(G)I-DLE Takes the Lead with “Invincible”

(G)I-DLE’s “Invincible” is described as a track that blends their characteristic coolness with pop sensibilities. A notable feature of the song’s composition is the inclusion of the “3, 2, 1” countdown, a familiar phrase uttered before a Beyblade launch, strategically placed before the chorus. This new opening theme will also be part of (G)I-DLE’s first Japanese EP, which is scheduled for release on October 3. The group has also shared a special comment video on YouTube regarding their participation.

imase Delivers “Uzu” as the Ending Theme

The ending theme, “Uzu,” was created by imase prior to his current hiatus from artist activities. The song is characterized by a city-pop sound that showcases imase’s unique musical world, featuring an engaging contrast with a rap section after the chorus. “Uzu” is slated for digital release on October 25. imase expressed his honor in contributing to the Beyblade franchise, having grown up with Metal Fight Beyblade through its anime, manga, and games. He aimed to create a fun and thrilling song for “Uzu” that would excite his childhood self and complement the intense battles of the anime.

Beyblade X: A Brief Overview and Previous Musical Contributions

The Beyblade X anime first premiered on July 13, 2024, in Japan. It is based on the manga created by Homura Kawamoto, Hikaru Muno, and The Promised Neverland illustrator Posuka Demizu, which began serialization in Shogakukan’s Monthly Coro Coro Comics magazine in June 2023. The story follows aspiring Blader Robin Kazami as he teams up with former champion Jaxon Cross and influencer Multi Nana-iro to form Team Persona, aiming to reach the pinnacle of the Blading world.

The anime has a history of collaborating with high-profile musical acts for its theme songs. Previous opening and ending themes have been performed by artists such as ONE OK ROCK (“Prove”), aespa (“ZOOM ZOOM”), TOMORROW X TOGETHER (“Rise”), Jax Jones and Ado (“Stay Gold”), L’Arc-en-Ciel (“YOU GOTTA RUN”), and Perfume (“Cosmic Treat”). The series is directed by Moto Terada under chief director Katsuhito Akiyama at studio OLM and is available for streaming on platforms like Hulu, Netflix, and Disney+.

The new theme songs from (G)I-DLE and imase will introduce a fresh auditory experience for fans as Beyblade X embarks on its anticipated third season.
