The official website for the television anime adaptation of Touya’s A Tale of the Secret Saint (Tensei Shita Daiseijo wa, Seijo de Aru Koto wo Hitakakusu) light novel series announced additional cast members on Wednesday, confirming the anime’s premiere for April 2026. This latest revelation builds anticipation for the fantasy series, which centers on a reincarnated saint trying to live a quiet life as a knight.
New Voices Join the Cast of A Tale of the Secret Saint
Three prominent voice actors have been added to the ensemble, bringing new characters to life. Tasuku Hatanaka, known for his role as Reki in SK8 the Infinity, will voice Desmond Ronan. Daiki Hamano, who played Kyros in Betrothed to My Sister’s Ex, is cast as Zachary Townsend. Rounding out the new additions is Tomokazu Sugita, recognized for his work as Sasaki in Sasaki and Peeps, who will portray Quintin Agata. These actors join an already announced cast that includes Shion Wakayama as the protagonist Fia Ruud, Shinnosuke Tokudome as Zavilia, Yūichirō Umehara as Saviz Náv, and Nobunaga Shimazaki as Cyril Sutherland.

The anime is officially slated to begin its broadcast in April 2026. Production for A Tale of the Secret Saint is handled by Felix Film. Overseeing the project is director Tomoe Makino, recognized for her work on Aharen-san wa Hakarenai. Naoki Murata serves as the assistant director. The series scripts are managed by Deko Akao, with character designs by Satomi Kurita. The musical score for the series is composed by Kenichiro Suehiro, and Ryōsuke Naya is the sound director.
The Story of the Secret Saint: Fia’s Dual Life
A Tale of the Secret Saint originates from a light novel series written by Touya and illustrated by chibi, which first began serialization on the user-generated novel publishing site Shōsetsuka ni Narō in January 2019. Earth Star Entertainment later published the series, and a manga adaptation by Mahito Aobe followed. Both the light novel and manga are available in English through Seven Seas Entertainment.
The narrative follows Fia, a young woman who harbors a lifelong dream of becoming a knight, despite being the least talented in her family of warriors. A near-fatal encounter with a dragon triggers memories of her past life as a powerful Saint, a revered figure who once defeated the Demon King. However, her previous life as a Saint ended in pain and betrayal, instilling in her a deep fear of embracing her true powers again. Now, with her ancient magic rekindled, Fia finds herself torn between her aspiration to be a knight and the powerful, yet dangerous, destiny of a Saint, determined to keep her extraordinary abilities a secret.
