The official website for the Girls Band Cry anime has released a new trailer and key visual for the second part of its two-film compilation project, titled “Naa, Mirai.” (Hey, Future.). The new video prominently features “Arrow,” the theme song performed by the in-story band, TOGENASHI TOGEARI. This announcement comes as the first compilation film, “Seishun Kyо̄sо̄kyoku” (Rhapsody of Youth), is set to open on October 3, 2025, with “Naa, Mirai.” following on November 14, 2025.

“Naa, Mirai.” Trailer Highlights New Music and Visuals

The recently unveiled trailer offers fans a fresh look at the upcoming second compilation film, showcasing more of the compelling narrative and musical journey of the band TOGENASHI TOGEARI. The focal point of the trailer is the theme song “Arrow,” which provides an auditory glimpse into the film’s emotional landscape. The accompanying key visual for “Naa, Mirai.” further enriches the anticipation, featuring the main characters and hinting at the continued struggles and triumphs that define their path in the music world.

Release Dates and Film Titles

The Girls Band Cry compilation project consists of two films. The first film, “Seishun Kyо̄sо̄kyoku” (Rhapsody of Youth), is scheduled to premiere in Japan on October 3, 2025. Following this, the second film, “Naa, Mirai.” (Hey, Future.), will make its debut on November 14, 2025. These films aim to condense and re-present the acclaimed television anime series, which originally aired for 13 episodes from April to June 2024.

The Story of TOGENASHI TOGEARI

Girls Band Cry follows the journey of high school dropout Nina Iseri, who moves to Tokyo feeling out of place in her rural hometown. After a challenging first day, she encounters Momoka Kawaragi, her favorite guitarist. Together, they form a band with three other girls: Subaru Awa, Tomo Ebizuka, and Rupa. The series, and subsequently the compilation films, delve into each member’s personal struggles and how their shared passion for music helps them navigate life’s difficulties and pursue their dreams. The band, known as TOGENASHI TOGEARI, is central to the narrative, with their music reflecting their growth and challenges.

Production and Staff Behind the Scenes

The Girls Band Cry anime series and its compilation films are produced by Toei Animation. Kazuo Sakai directed the series, with Jukki Hanada handling the series composition and Nari Teshima responsible for character designs. Kenji Tamai served as the music composer, playing a crucial role in shaping the band’s sound. The main voice cast for TOGENASHI TOGEARI includes Rina as Nina Iseri, Yuri as Momoka Kawaragi, Mirei as Subaru Awa, Natsu as Tomo Ebizuka, and Shuri as Rupa.

Broader Girls Band Cry Project

The compilation films are part of a larger multimedia project. In September 2025, a new theatrical Girls Band Cry movie was announced, further expanding the franchise beyond the compilation films. Additionally, the series recently engaged in a collaboration with the ZOMBIE LAND SAGA franchise, releasing a special visual and videos where the protagonists of both series voice each other’s opening scenes. This cross-promotional effort highlights the growing presence and popularity of Girls Band Cry in the anime landscape.
