Fans of “The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess” (also known as Tensei Akujo no Kuro Rekishi) have reason to celebrate, as the upcoming Special Edition Blu-ray Disc release for the anime adaptation is confirmed to include two exclusive special episodes. These bonus episodes will not be part of the television broadcast and are based on short stories from the original manga series.

Delving into the Bonus Content

The two special anime episodes will offer viewers additional narratives beyond what was aired on television. These stories are titled “Yomi to Shitto to Tanjōbi” (“Yomi, Jealousy, and Happy Birthday”) and “Iana to Sol Netsuppoi Ichinichi” (“A Bad Case of Butler Fever”). These inclusions are a treat for enthusiasts eager to explore more facets of the beloved characters and world created by Akiharu Tōka.

“Yomi to Shitto to Tanjōbi” (Yomi, Jealousy, and Happy Birthday)

This episode is expected to delve into the character of Yomi, potentially exploring themes of jealousy and a birthday celebration within the intricate dynamics of the series. Yomi Blacksarana is a significant character voiced by Shunichi Toki.

“Iana to Sol Netsuppoi Ichinichi” (A Bad Case of Butler Fever)

Focusing on Iana and Sol, this special episode promises a glimpse into their interactions, possibly featuring a lighthearted or comical scenario related to “butler fever.” Iana Magnolia is voiced by Yoshino Aoyama, while Sol Nemophyra is voiced by Shōhei Komatsu.

Blu-ray Release Details and Anime Overview

The Special Edition Blu-ray Disc for “The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess” is scheduled to ship in Japan on April 3, 2026. This release provides an opportunity for fans to own the series with added exclusive content.

The anime series itself, produced by Studio DEEN and directed by Hiroaki Sakurai, premiered on October 8 at 24:00 JST (effectively October 9 at 12:00 a.m. JST) on TV Tokyo and BS11 in Japan. Crunchyroll is streaming the series in various regions, including North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.

The Story of Iana Magnolia

The plot of “The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess” centers on Konoha Satou, a high school student with a “dark history”—a fantasy adventure she wrote in middle school. After a sudden accident, she finds herself reincarnated into the world of her own creation as Iana Magnolia, the notorious villainess she designed. Now, Iana must navigate this world, remembering every detail of her self-made “dark history” to alter her character’s grim fate and seek a peaceful existence.

The manga, written and illustrated by Akiharu Tōka, began serialization in Hakusensha’s LaLa magazine in August 2018, with Yen Press releasing the romantic comedy manga in English. The series is known for its blend of romantic comedy and isekai elements.

Production Team and Cast

The anime adaptation features a talented team, with Mitsutaka Hirota handling the series scripts, Tomoyo Sawada designing the characters, and Ryūichi Takada composing the music.

The main voice cast includes:

  • Yoshino Aoyama as Iana Magnolia.
  • M.A.O as Konoha Magnolia.
  • Shōhei Komatsu as Sol Nemophyra.
  • Makoto Furukawa as Ginoford Dandelion.
  • Shunichi Toki as Yomi Blacksarana.
  • Arthur Lounsbery as Cheneau Clematis.
  • Atsushi Tamaru as Mika.
  • Tomoaki Maeno as Yamato Hydrangea.

The opening theme song, “Black Flame,” is performed by KID PHENOMENON from EXILE TRIBE, while the ending theme song, “Rengene,” is performed by Zerofrom. These special episodes will undoubtedly be a valuable addition for fans looking to complete their collection and dive deeper into the world of “The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess.”
