The Story of “My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s”
The isekai fantasy series follows Akira Oda and his high school classmates, who are unexpectedly summoned to a new world. While his peers are granted powerful “cheat” abilities, Akira initially receives the seemingly mundane skills of an “assassin.” However, it quickly becomes apparent that his status as an assassin far surpasses even the most formidable “hero” professions. Growing suspicious of the summoning king, Akira is falsely accused of a crime and forced to flee, leading him on a journey to hone his unique skills and navigate the treacherous new world.
The anime is produced by TMS Entertainment and animated by Sunrise, with Nobuyoshi Habara directing. Kunihiko Okada is in charge of series composition and scriptwriting, while Hirona Okada and Kaori Saito are designing the characters. Masahiro Yamane is responsible for monster designs, and Satoshi Igarashi is composing the music. The novel series began serialization on Shousetsuka ni Narou in January 2017 and was later published in print by Overlap. A manga adaptation by Hiroyuki Aigamo has been running since July 2018.
