The official X/Twitter account for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Syundei’s boys-love manga, Go For It, Nakamura! (Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!), has released its second promotional video, revealing and previewing the series’ theme songs. The new trailer highlights “Glory Days” by Senri Oe and “Sekai de Ichiban Atsui Natsu” by Princess Princess as the featured tracks.
Theme Songs Take Center Stage
The recently released second promotional video offers fans a first listen to the anime’s opening and ending themes. Senri Oe performs the song “Glory Days,” while Princess Princess contributes “Sekai de Ichiban Atsui Natsu”. These selections aim to capture the romantic comedy’s tone, which follows the shy protagonist, Okuto Nakamura, and his secret crush on his classmate, Aiki Hirose.
About ‘Go for It, Nakamura!’ Anime
The anime adaptation of Go for It, Nakamura! was officially announced on August 16, 2024, with Studio Drive producing the series. Originally slated for a 2025 release, the broadcast was later delayed to 2026 due to “production circumstances”. Crunchyroll is set to stream the series internationally as it airs.
Production Team and Cast
Aoi Umeki (known for her work on Pop Team Epic) is directing the anime, as well as handling screenplays and character designs. Naoki Yoshibe serves as assistant director, and Yasuko Aoki is credited with series composition and additional screenplays. Ayana Tsujita is composing the music for the series.
The main voice cast includes Chiaki Kobayashi as Okuto Nakamura and Yuki Sakakihara as Aiki Hirose. Kappei Yamaguchi and Junko Takeuchi, who previously voiced characters in an audio drama adaptation, are also confirmed to appear in the TV anime in as-yet unrevealed roles.
Manga Background
Syundei’s original Go for It, Nakamura! manga was serialized in Akane Shinsha’s Opera magazine from 2014 to 2016. The single-volume boys-love rom-com tells the story of Nakamura, a clumsy and shy high school student who is secretly in love with his classmate, Hirose, whom he hasn’t even properly met yet. A sequel titled Go For It Again, Nakamura! (Motto Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!) was serialized from 2017 to 2021. Both manga series are available in English through Seven Seas Entertainment.
