A Growing Ensemble for the Yuri Comedy
Tomita joins a previously announced cast, solidifying the vocal lineup for the adaptation of Hey’s popular manga. Sayumi Suzushiro is slated to voice the titular protagonist, Botan Kamiina, while Yoshino Aoyama will portray Ibuki Tonami, Botan’s dorm leader and drinking partner. Minako Kotobuki has been cast as Kanade Gujō, and Yurina Amami as Akane Yusa.
Miyu Tomita’s Role as Yaeka Kitamori
While details about Yaeka Kitamori’s specific role in the anime’s narrative are still unfolding, her inclusion, voiced by the experienced Miyu Tomita, suggests a significant character presence. Tomita is known for her diverse roles, including Riko in Made in Abyss, Miko Iino in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, and Chuatury “Chuchu” Panlunch in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury. Her involvement is expected to bring a dynamic performance to the character.
‘Kamiina Botan’: A Story of Friendship and Discovery Through Drink
The ‘Kamiina Botan, Yoheru Sugata wa Yuri no Hana’ anime is based on a yuri manga series by Hey, which began serialization on Akita Shoten’s Champion Cross web service in March 2019. The story centers on Botan Kamiina, a 20-year-old university student who embarks on her first experiences with alcohol after meeting Ibuki Tonami, the leader of her dormitory. Ibuki, despite enjoying drinking, is conscious of getting hiccups in public. The two quickly bond, becoming drinking partners and exploring various alcoholic beverages together while living in Chichibu, Saitama. The series is characterized by its “tipsy teasing girl’s comedy” premise.
