Bukimi Miki’s popular superhero manga series, Shy, is officially set to end in three additional chapters. The announcement was made in this year’s 46th issue of Akita Publishing’s Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine, signaling the impending conclusion of the heroic tale.
A Journey of Heroism and Self-Discovery Nears Its End
Shy, which began its serialization in Weekly Shōnen Champion in August 2019, follows the journey of Teru Momijiyama, a timid young girl who serves as Japan’s superhero representative, codenamed “Shy”. Despite her severe shyness and insecurities, Teru strives to protect global peace alongside other international heroes. The manga delves into her personal growth as she confronts villains and her own shortcomings, proving that courage comes in many forms.
The series has gained a dedicated following for its unique take on the superhero genre, blending action with introspective character development. Bukimi Miki’s storytelling has been praised for its ability to build depth in its characters and maintain a compelling pace.
Manga’s Publication and International Reach

For English-speaking audiences, Yen Press has licensed the series and has been releasing it in North America, with the 11th volume scheduled to ship on October 28, 2025. The manga has also been licensed in several European countries, including France, Germany, Spain, and Italy, starting in 2020.
