Nikumaru’s romantic manga series, known in English as Someone’s Girlfriend, is set to conclude its serialization in just three more chapters. The announcement was made last Friday by editor Miyakawa of Shogakukan’s Shonen Sunday magazine via X (formerly Twitter), signaling the approaching end for fans of the popular series.
A Brief Run for the Popular Romance Series
The manga, titled Kanojo ni Naritai Kimi to Boku in Japan, first launched as a regular series on Shogakukan’s Sunday Webry platform in September 2022, following an initial one-shot publication in 2021. Its relatively short but impactful run has captivated readers with its unique premise. Seven Seas Entertainment has been publishing the series in English, with the fourth volume shipped on September 9 and the fifth volume scheduled for January 20.
Synopsis and Plot Points
Someone’s Girlfriend delves into a complicated high school romance. The story centers on Riku, who finds himself unable to get Shizuku out of his mind. The situation takes a dramatic turn when Shizuku, who is his best friend’s girlfriend, approaches him with a bold proposition: “Do whatever you want to me.” This sets the stage for a “dangerous romance” brewing during their final year of high school.
The Author’s Other Works
