The upcoming television anime adaptation of Mika Yamamori’s popular romance manga, In the Clear Moonlit Dusk (Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki), has announced two additional cast members, further detailing its ensemble ahead of its January 2026 premiere. Aya Yamane and Momoko Seto will join the cast, portraying classmates of the protagonist, Yoi Takiguchi.
New Voices Join the “Clear Moonlit Dusk” Production
On Friday, the official website for the anime unveiled that Aya Yamane will voice Nobara Tone, while Momoko Seto will take on the role of Kotobuki Hibiya. These additions build upon the previously announced main cast, which includes Rei Ichinomiya as the lead, Yoi Takiguchi, and Ryōta Suzuki as Kohaku Ichimura.
Portraying Yoi’s Classmates: Nobara Tone and Kotobuki Hibiya
Aya Yamane steps into the role of Nobara Tone, a character described as compassionate with a keen insight into others’ emotions. Despite her often unnoticed presence, Nobara is expected to play a significant role in the narrative, particularly through her ability to foster connections.
Momoko Seto will voice Kotobuki Hibiya, a quirky and imaginative student. Kotobuki is known for concocting elaborate theories about various school events and even supernatural phenomena, bringing a unique and joyful perspective to the series.
Diving into the World of In the Clear Moonlit Dusk
The anime is based on Mika Yamamori’s acclaimed shojo manga, which began serialization in Kodansha’s Dessert magazine in July 2020. Kodansha USA publishes the manga in English, and it has garnered significant praise, even ranking on Takarajimasha’s 2023 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook for female readers.
The Story of Two “Princes”
In the Clear Moonlit Dusk centers on Yoi Takiguchi, a first-year high school student whose tall stature, deep voice, and handsome face lead many to mistake her for a boy. Known by her peers as “Prince,” Yoi has grown accustomed to this perception. However, her life takes a turn when she encounters Kohaku Ichimura, another student also dubbed “Prince” for his refined appearance. Kohaku is the first person who seems to genuinely see Yoi for who she is, initiating a complex and evolving relationship between the two “princes.”
Production Team and Release Details
The anime adaptation is being produced by East Fish Studio, with Yūsuke Maruyama (known for his work on Lycoris Recoil episodes) directing the series. Ayumu Hisao (Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life) is handling the series composition, while Yuki Fukuda (Insomniacs After School) is designing the characters. The musical score will be composed by Tsubasa Ito (I May Be a Guild Receptionist).
The series is slated to premiere across 28 TBS affiliate networks in Japan in January 2026. Fans can anticipate a visually engaging and emotionally resonant adaptation of the popular romance story.
