“May I Ask for One Final Thing?” (Japanese: Saigo ni Hitotsu dake Onegai Shitemo Yoroshī Deshō ka), the popular romance-action anime adapted from Nana Ōtori’s shojo manga, delivered a thrilling and pivotal installment with its fifth episode. This episode, which premiered on October 31, 2025, significantly advances the plot, showcasing protagonist Scarlet’s relentless pursuit of justice and introducing a major revelation that reshapes the narrative.

The Premise of “May I Ask for One Final Thing?”

The anime series follows Scarlet El Vandimion, a duke’s daughter, whose engagement to Second Prince Kyle von Pallistan is abruptly and publicly broken off. Falsely accused of being a bully and a “villainess,” Scarlet, having endured years of torment, finally snaps. Her polite request for “one final thing” quickly escalates into a brutal campaign of revenge against Kyle and other corrupt nobles, exposing their treachery and often ending with her delivering a powerful fist to their faces. The series blends action, fantasy, comedy, drama, and romance, focusing on Scarlet’s elegant yet rebellious nature as she refuses to let anyone take advantage of her.

Episode 5: A Deep Dive into Vengeance and Revelations

Episode 5, titled “May I Go to See My Fists’ Beloved One (Punching Bag)?”, plunges deeper into Scarlet’s quest to dismantle the corrupt system, particularly targeting Godwin Bene Carmine.

Confronting Godwin Carmine

The episode centers on Scarlet’s relentless pursuit of Godwin. Despite Prince Leo’s initial concerns about his younger sister’s aggressive methods, Scarlet, with the backing of Prince Julius, orchestrates a direct confrontation. She makes a pact with Prince Julius: in exchange for her loyalty to the royal family, he must hold back his troops and allow her to personally deal with Goodwin. Julius, however, insists on her swearing allegiance directly to him, a condition Scarlet grudgingly accepts.

Their plan involves breaking into Godwin Carmine’s stronghold to apprehend him. During the infiltration, Godwin’s son attempts to use magic, but Prince Julius counters with a royal ring capable of nullifying the magic of the Palestine people. Undeterred, Godwin orders his subordinates to attack the prince, deeming him a fake.

Scarlet’s Unyielding Power

Scarlet’s combat prowess is a highlight of the episode. When Godwin attempts to escape amidst the chaos, Leo uses his clairvoyance magic to track him. This leads to a surprising moment where a dragon lands on the roof, suggesting Godwin has made contact with the Crimson Dragon troops. Fearful of her “prey” being stolen, Scarlet utilizes Krono’s blessing to accelerate her perception of time, allowing her to brutally incapacitate Godwin with superhuman precision, effectively beating him “deader than shit” in the eyes of an observer.

Despite Scarlet’s desire to deliver the final blow herself, Godwin is ultimately taken out by poison at the hands of a new antagonist. Before his demise, Godwin reveals a shocking truth to Scarlet: Terenezza Hopkins, the supposed heroine and Scarlet’s rival, is not from Palestine but a reincarnation from another world, thanks to the help of a goddess.

Prince Julius’s Role and Confession

Prince Julius plays a significant role in assisting Scarlet, supporting her infiltration plan. He also confesses his feelings for Scarlet, stating that she is the only person who makes his world interesting and that he is in love for the first time. Scarlet, initially shocked and believing he’s merely toying with her, eventually acknowledges the depth of their unusual relationship.

The Terenezza Revelation

The revelation of Terenezza’s true identity—a reincarnated woman from another world who considers herself the true heroine and Scarlet the villainess—marks a significant turning point. This twist sets up a compelling “Brawn vs. Brains” dynamic, as Terenezza’s knowledge and cunning pose a strategic threat that differs from the physical confrontations Scarlet usually faces. Terenezza, believing herself to be the heroine, infiltrates the prison to thank Godwin for suppressing the worship of Saint Diana in favor of Palmia, the Goddess of Love, before poisoning him and resolving to defeat Scarlet herself.

Looking Ahead

Episode 5 expertly combines intense action sequences with crucial plot developments, cementing Scarlet’s reputation as the “Mad Dog Lady” and setting the stage for more complex challenges. The introduction of Terenezza’s reincarnation status and her intellectual threat against Scarlet’s brute force promises an intriguing direction for the series as it progresses. The anime continues to stream, with fans eagerly anticipating how Scarlet will tackle these new adversaries and revelations.
