Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Finale Trilogy Continues
This second film is a crucial installment in the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club finale trilogy, which aims to conclude the story following the anime series and OVA. The first film in the trilogy premiered in Japan on September 6, 2024. The upcoming second chapter, set to open on November 7, 2025, continues the narrative, which has been described as an all-new story taking place in Okinawa, focusing on an event called “School Idol GPX.”
Tomoyuki Kawamura directs the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club films at animation studio Sunrise, with Jin Tanaka providing the script and Takumi Yokota handling character designs. Naoki Endou is responsible for the music.
The Enduring Legacy of Nijigasaki High School Idol Club
The Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club project first launched its activities in 2017. The story centers on the members of the School Idol Club at Nijigasaki High School in Odaiba, Tokyo, as they pursue their dreams of becoming top school idols, often as friends and sometimes as rivals.
The anime television series adaptation saw its first season air from October to December 2020, followed by a second season from April to June 2022. An original video animation (OVA) titled Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Next Sky was also released in Japanese theaters in June 2023, further expanding the story before the commencement of the current film trilogy.
