Himika Akaneya, a prominent voice actress and member of the idol group i☆Ris, has been officially cast in the ongoing TV anime series Let This Grieving Soul Retire! (Japanese title: Nageki no Bōrei wa Intai Shitai: Saijaku Hunter ni Yoru Saikyō Party Ikusei-jutsu). Akaneya will lend her voice to the character Ryuulan, who is set to make her debut in the upcoming 18th episode of the second season.

The second season of Let This Grieving Soul Retire! premiered on October 6, 2025, on Tokyo MX and BS NTV, with early streaming available on d Anime Store and ABEMA starting October 4. The first season of the anime originally debuted in October 2024.
The series is based on the light novel series written by Tsukikage and illustrated by Chyko, which began serialization as a web novel in January 2018 and was later published by Micro Magazine. J-Novel Club is responsible for publishing the English-language version of the novels.
The Premise of Let This Grieving Soul Retire!
The anime follows Krai Andrey, a seemingly weak protagonist who finds himself leading the most powerful treasure hunter party, “The Grieving Souls,” comprised of his childhood friends. Despite his incredible luck in overcoming challenges, Krai secretly wishes to retire from his dangerous life as a treasure hunter, constantly feeling overwhelmed by the expectations placed upon him by his incredibly strong companions who mistakenly believe him to be an all-knowing genius. The story blends fantasy, comedy, and adventure as Krai navigates perilous dungeons and encounters various characters, all while trying to avoid actual combat and fulfill his simple desire for a peaceful retirement.
Production and Other Cast Members
The anime adaptation is produced by studio Zero-G and directed by Masahiro Takata. Hideki Shirane handles the series composition, with Yusuke Isouchi and Shingo Fujisaki designing the characters. Ryōhei Sataka is composing the music for the series.
The main voice cast includes Kensho Ono as Krai Andrey and Miyu Kubota as Tino Shade. Other key cast members include Fairouz Ai as Liz Smart, Konomi Kohara as Sitri Smart, Kohei Amasaki as Luke Sykol, Tomokazu Sugita as Ansem Smart and the Narrator, and Aoi Koga as Lucia Rogier.
