The highly anticipated second season of the Chained Soldier (also known as Mato Seihei no Slave) anime officially announced its premiere date for January 8, 2026, across various Japanese networks, alongside revealing additional cast members set to join the supernatural action series. The updates confirm earlier teasers and set the stage for the continuation of the popular adaptation.
Premiere Details and Broadcast Information
Chained Soldier Season 2 is slated to begin its broadcast on January 8, 2026. Viewers in Japan can catch the new season on Tokyo MX, BS Asahi, MBS, and AT-X. The first season of the anime originally aired from January to March 2024.
New Voices Join the Ranks of the Demon Defense Force
Several prominent voice actors have been added to the cast for the second season, bringing new characters from Takahiro and Yōhei Takemura’s manga to life. The newly announced cast members include:
- Kana Ichinose as Konomi Tatara
- Fairouz Ai as Mira Kamiunten
- Manaka Iwami as Bell Tsukiyono
- Fūka Izumi as Yakumo Ezo
- Maaya Uchida as Tenka Izumo
- Yukana as Fubuki Azuma
- Kana Hanazawa as Ren Yamashiro
Additionally, Akari Kitō is confirmed to return in her role as Kyōka Uzen. These new additions will expand the ensemble, particularly focusing on the various Corps Leaders of the Demon Defense Force, as the second season is expected to adapt the “Leaders’ Meeting” arc from Volume 6 of the manga.
Production Shifts and Returning Staff
While the first season was animated by Seven Arcs, Chained Soldier Season 2 will see a change in production studios, with Passione and Hayabusa Film taking the helm. Masafumi Tamura is directing the second season, replacing Junji Nishimura who served as chief director for the first season. Yasuhiro Nakanishi is returning to handle the series composition, ensuring continuity in the narrative’s overarching structure. Character designs for the new season will be handled by Keiya Nakano.
The original Chained Soldier manga, written by Takahiro and illustrated by Yōhei Takemura, has been serialized on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ online platform since January 2019. The series centers on Yuuki Wakura, who finds himself enslaved by the powerful women of the Demon Defense Force battling threats from the alternate dimension known as Mato.
