In the Clear Moonlit Dusk is based on Mika Yamamori’s popular romance manga, which began serialization in Kodansha’s Dessert magazine in July 2020. Kodansha USA publishes the English-language version of the manga.
The story centers on Yoi Takiguchi, a first-year high school student with striking good looks, long legs, and a deep voice, often mistaken for a handsome boy and nicknamed “Prince” by her peers. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she encounters Kohaku Ichimura, another student also known as “Prince,” who sees her for who she truly is, leading to a unique and evolving relationship between the two “princes.”
The anime adaptation was initially announced in May 2025, with additional cast members revealed in August 2025. The new trailer and theme song artist announcement further build anticipation for its January 2026 broadcast.
