The anime is based on the light novel series written by Hamuo and illustrated by Mo. It centers on Kenichi Yamada, a 35-year-old dedicated gamer whose favorite MMORPG is shutting down. Seeking a new challenge, he stumbles upon an untitled game promising “incomparable challenge with unprecedented potential” and immediately selects the “Hell Mode” difficulty.
Upon choosing the “Summoner” class, Kenichi finds himself reincarnated in another world as a baby named Allen, born into a family of serfs. Armed only with his past memories and wits, Allen embarks on a journey to conquer this new world’s “Hell Mode,” uncover the mysterious secrets of the Summoner class, and ultimately free his newfound family from their servitude. The series is known for its fantasy and isekai themes.
