Crunchyroll’s dedicated manga app has significantly expanded its digital catalog, announcing the addition of 26 new titles from Titan Books. The new additions, launched around New York Comic Con, bolster the platform’s growing collection and include series that also have anime adaptations available for streaming on Crunchyroll, such as Burst Angel and Somali and the Forest Spirit.

Broadening the Crunchyroll Manga Experience

The integration of Titan Books’ titles marks another step in Crunchyroll’s strategy to become a comprehensive hub for anime and manga fans. The Crunchyroll Manga app, which debuted on October 9 for iOS and Android (with a web version following on October 15), aims to provide a seamless reading experience for subscribers. This expansion follows the app’s initial launch with hundreds of titles from various leading publishers, including VIZ Media, Square Enix, AlphaPolis, COMPASS, and Yen Press.

The app functions as a premium add-on, included at no additional cost for Crunchyroll Ultimate Fan subscribers. Other subscriber tiers can access Crunchyroll Manga as an optional monthly add-on, with pricing variations. The service offers an ad-free experience, offline downloads, light/dark reading modes, and curated reading lists, aiming to enhance accessibility and convenience for readers.

Key Titles and Publisher Partnerships

While a full list of all 26 Titan Books titles was not immediately detailed in the press releases, the mention of titles like Burst Angel and Somali and the Forest Spirit highlights a focus on series that resonate with Crunchyroll’s existing anime audience. This cross-media synergy allows fans to delve deeper into stories they enjoy in animated form.

Titan Books is known for its diverse range of graphic novels and manga, often including adaptations, original English-language manga (OEL manga), and translated Japanese works. Their partnership with Crunchyroll enriches the app’s library beyond its initial Japanese manga offerings, adding a broader scope of comics to the platform.

The Evolution of Crunchyroll’s Digital Offerings

Crunchyroll’s venture into a dedicated manga app is a significant evolution for the company. While Crunchyroll previously distributed manga titles, including Attack on Titan and Fairy Tail, through its Crunchyroll Manga service beginning in 2013, the new app launched in October 2025 represents a more robust and integrated platform. This move solidifies Crunchyroll’s position as a major player in digital entertainment, expanding beyond its primary anime streaming service.

The platform’s goal is to make manga more accessible than ever, bundling services and catering to the evolving digital media consumption habits of fans. With ongoing additions from various publishers, Crunchyroll Manga is steadily building a comprehensive digital library for manga enthusiasts across the U.S. and Canada, with plans for further expansion and language options.
