About emaqi

Launched by Orange Inc., a Tokyo-based manga startup, emaqi is a digital manga store primarily serving the U.S. and Canada. The platform, which became available as an app in May 2025, aims to provide exclusive English translations of titles previously unreleased in English.

emaqi distinguishes itself by focusing solely on official, authentic Japanese manga, differentiating itself from platforms that combine manga with manhwa, manhua, and webtoons. It leverages AI-assisted translation to support its in-house team of human translators, ensuring high-quality localization. The platform boasts over 13,000 manga volumes from major publishers and plans to expand its exclusive lineup to 100 never-before-translated manga by the end of 2025. Its “Dig” feature offers an innovative way for users to discover new series through vertical and horizontal swipes, alongside personalized recommendations.
