The official website for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Tachibana Higuchi’s Champignon no Majo (Champignon Witch) manga announced additional cast members and the artists performing its theme songs on Monday. The magical fantasy series is set to premiere in January 2026 on TBS and other channels.
New Voices Join the Enchanting Cast
Four new voice actors have been added to the Champignon Witch anime ensemble, bringing more of Higuchi’s beloved characters to life. Jun Fukushima will voice Claude, Emiri Katō is cast as Minos, Miho Okasaki takes on the role of Merino, and Misato Fukuen will portray Sisi. These new additions join previously announced cast members Haruka Shiraishi as the protagonist Luna, and Yuki Sakakihara as Lize.
The story revolves around Luna, a witch feared by townsfolk as the “Champignon Witch” due to poisonous mushrooms sprouting wherever she walks or touches. Despite her solitary life, she longs for human connection, leading to a tale of love, adventure, and emotional growth.
Theme Songs Revealed
The musical landscape of Champignon Witch will be brought to life by two talented artists. Singer ROSU will perform the opening theme song, titled “Maho Tsukai no Nikki” (Magician’s Diary). The ending theme song, “Kimi wa” (You Are), will be performed by Ms.OOJA.
Production Details and Manga Background
The anime adaptation of Champignon no Majo is being directed by Yōsuke Kubo, known for his work on Dahlia in Bloom: Crafting a Fresh Start With Magical Tools. Yūko Kakihara is handling the series scripts, and Miki Matsumoto is designing the characters. Animation production is a collaborative effort between Typhoon Graphics and Qzil.la.
Tachibana Higuchi launched the Champignon no Majo manga on Hakusensha’s Manga Park app in October 2019. As of December 2024, Hakusensha has published six compiled book volumes of the series. The manga has garnered attention, including a recommendation from renowned manga artist Chica Umino. The announcement of the anime adaptation was made in December 2024.
