The light novel series “Majutsu o Kiwamete Tabi ni Deta Tensei Elf, Moteamashita Jumyō de Ikeru Densetsu to Naru” (A Reincarnated Elf, Who Mastered Magic and Embarked on a Journey, Becomes a Living Legend With Excess Lifespan) by Monshō Sakakibara is officially receiving a television anime adaptation. The announcement was made through a special website that launched on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
About the Isekai Fantasy Series
The popular “Majutsu o Kiwamete Tabi ni Deta Tensei Elf” series follows the journey of Liese, an elf who was formerly a man in his past life. After an untimely accident, he reincarnates into another world with a vastly extended lifespan of 1,000 years. Filled with regret over his unaccomplished previous life, Liese resolves to make his second chance count.
Liese’s Quest for a Legendary Life
Liese embarks on an extensive journey to master all forms of magical skills. His ambition is to leave a significant mark on the world, becoming a “living legend” with his excess lifespan. Along his path, he reunites with a girl he once saved, and together they begin an adventure that solidifies his destiny as a legendary figure. The story explores themes of regret, determination, and the pursuit of a meaningful existence in a new world.
Origins of the Story
Monshō Sakakibara originally launched the fantasy story on the Kakuyomu website in July 2021. Starts Publishing later released a single volume of the light novel with illustrations by Hatori Kyoka in December 2022.
Manga Adaptation and Release
A manga adaptation, illustrated by kanco, began serialization on Starts Publishing’s Novema website in May 2023, under their isekai comic label Glast COMICS. The manga is also serialized on Starts Publishing’s new manga website, Manga Zegra. The first compiled book volume of the manga shipped in March 2024, and the fifth volume is slated for release on November 28, 2025. The manga adaptation artist, kanco, also drew a commemorative illustration to celebrate the anime announcement.
