Recent announcements for the second season of the anime series “Let This Grieving Soul Retire!” (Nageki no Bōrei wa Intai Shitai: Saijaku Hunter ni Yoru Saikyō Party Ikusei-jutsu) have revealed additional voice cast members, but Hidenari Ugaki’s name was not among the new additions. The series, which began its second season on October 6 on Tokyo MX and BS NTV, recently added Kiyono Yasuno and Yūki Wakai to its cast.
Kiyono Yasuno and Yūki Wakai Join the Ranks
Kiyono Yasuno will be lending her voice to the character Artbaran Henning, while Yūki Wakai has been cast as Mary Auden. These new cast members are joining an already established lineup for the second season.

The anime’s second season sees the return of several key voice actors, including Kenshō Ono as Krai Andrey, Miyu Kubota as Tino Shade, Haruka Shiraishi as Lapis Fulgor, Yū Serizawa as Kris Argent, Satomi Amano as Chloe Welter, and Hana Hishikawa as Éclair Gladis. The new additions of Yasuno and Wakai aim to further enrich the diverse ensemble bringing the light novel series to life.
The Story of a Reluctant Hero
“Let This Grieving Soul Retire!” follows Krai Andrey, a treasure hunter who, despite his own doubts about his abilities, is made the leader of his childhood friends’ party, who aspire to be the strongest heroes in the world. Krai’s journey is characterized by his desire to retire from the dangerous life of an adventurer, even as expectations and perilous quests mount around him. The anime, based on Tsukikage and Chyko’s light novel series, has been streaming on platforms like Crunchyroll, and premiered its second season on October 6.
The original light novel series by Tsukikage launched in January 2018, with a manga adaptation by Rai Habino following in April 2019. J-Novel Club and Yen Press publish the light novels and manga, respectively, in English. The animation studio Zero-G is responsible for the production, with Masahiro Takata directing and Hideki Shirane handling series scripts.
