Tokyopop has announced the acquisition of 11 new manga licenses, significantly expanding its diverse catalog. The announcement, made on Friday, November 21, 2025, includes a wide range of titles, with a strong emphasis on Boys’ Love (BL) and romance genres, largely under the company’s “LoveLove” imprint. This new wave of licenses aims to bring fresh stories and beloved creators to English-speaking audiences throughout late 2025 and into 2026.

A Focus on Romance and Boys’ Love

The majority of the newly licensed titles fall under Tokyopop’s established “LoveLove” imprint, which is dedicated to romantic and Boys’ Love stories. This strategic focus reflects the growing demand for these genres among manga readers. The new additions showcase a variety of romantic dynamics, from heartwarming to dramatic, and explore complex relationships.

Notable New “LoveLove” Titles

Among the 11 new licenses, several titles are poised to capture the hearts of romance and BL fans:

  • A Nightingale Awaits the Blooming Love of Spring by Nayuta Nago: This coming-of-age Boys’ Love story follows a cheerful delinquent seeking fighting advice from his reformed-troublemaker teacher.
  • I Want to See Me in Your Eyes by Yoriko: A “spicy BL” that pairs protagonist Hinata with his unrequited love’s younger brother, Rou, as they navigate childhood friendships and what it means to be “grown up.”
  • Waiting for You at the End of the Runway by ikugao: This emotional Boys’ Love story reconnects childhood friends Chihaya, a retired actor/model, and Shion, an up-and-coming model, as adults in the entertainment industry.
  • In So Deep, It’s Already Love by Reida Soragaki: A heartbroken fangirl encounters a shy transfer student who resembles her favorite idol, leading to a dramatic romantic turn in her high school life when she uncovers his secret.
  • Ayaka Is in Love with Hiroko! by Sal Jiang: This popular Girls’ Love (GL) manga, which has also inspired a live-action series in Japan, centers on two office coworkers who fall for each other, each believing their love is unrequited.
  • Walking in Your Tracks by Tatsumi Kifuu: A moving Boys’ Love drama about Kizaki Ren, who, left paralyzed and isolated after an accident, slowly opens up to the quiet persistence and warmth of his new caretaker, Maki Rintarou.
  • The Tale of Luvelia Kingdom by Kioko and Shion: This romantic tale follows Alois, an imperial guard and royal descendant, who is ordered to marry Elina, the former fiancée of the crown prince.

Diverse Genres Beyond Romance

While romance and BL are prominent, Tokyopop’s new lineup also includes other genres, ensuring a broad appeal. These additions demonstrate the publisher’s commitment to offering a varied selection to its readers.

Other Noteworthy Additions

  • Bride of Ignat by Moyori Mori: This title was previously announced and has been re-confirmed as part of the new licenses. Moyori Mori is also known for “Touch Within the Abyss,” also published by Tokyopop.
  • Apprentice Nail Artist in a Foreign Land by Marukawa: An intriguing take on the isekai genre, where office worker Keiko Sahara, passionate about gel nails, is transported to another world where magical power is determined by nail art.
  • I Picked Up a No-Good, Useless Prince by Gunjo Kazuki: A humorous romantic comedy that offers a unique twist on the commoner-noble relationship, focusing on a banished imperial prince and a quirky innkeeper determined to reform him.

Release Schedule

While specific release dates for all 11 titles were not immediately available, Tokyopop has indicated that these new manga will begin rolling out in late 2025 and continue into 2026. Fans can look forward to both print and digital releases, making these stories accessible to a wide audience.

This significant expansion of Tokyopop’s manga offerings underscores its ongoing effort to bring compelling and diverse narratives to manga enthusiasts.
