Fans of the dark fantasy action series Gachiakuta can now catch up on the latest developments in the anime adaptation, with both Episode 21 and Episode 22 having recently aired. The highly anticipated anime, produced by Studio Bones, premiered in July 2025 and has been steadily releasing new episodes, delving deeper into the dystopian world of Rudo and the Cleaners.

Episode 21 and 22 Release Information

Gachiakuta Episode 21 was released on November 30, 2025, while Episode 22 followed shortly after, airing on December 8, 2025. Both episodes are available for international viewers on Crunchyroll, which serves as the primary streaming platform outside of Japan. New episodes of Gachiakuta are typically released on Sundays.

Where to Watch Gachiakuta Episodes

For viewers outside of Japan, Crunchyroll is the go-to platform to watch Gachiakuta. Premium subscribers can access new episodes as soon as they air in Japan, while free subscribers typically have a seven-day waiting period. The anime is expected to run for 24 episodes in its first season.

Plot Developments in Recent Episodes

The series continues to follow Rudo, an orphan accused of a crime and cast into the “Pit,” a fearsome abyss where the refuse of humanity and its monstrous creations reside. He joins the Cleaners, an organization that battles these “Trash Beasts” using unique “Vital Instruments.”

Episode 21 and 22 mark a crucial point in the narrative. Episode 21 saw the explosive re-appearance of Noerde, setting the stage for an intense confrontation with Riyo. Following a difficult battle against Bundus, the Cleaners are pushed to their limits as they face off against another supercharged Raider. Episode 22 is expected to further test the resolve and abilities of Rudo and his allies, leaving much uncertainty for what comes next in their fight to survive and uncover the truth of their world.

The Acclaimed Manga and Anime Production

The Gachiakuta anime is an adaptation of the popular manga series written and illustrated by Kei Urana, with graffiti designs by Hideyoshi Andou. The manga began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in February 2022 and has garnered significant attention, even winning the Global Special Prize in the Comics category of the Next Manga Awards 2022.

Studio Bones, known for its work on acclaimed series such as My Hero Academia and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, is helming the animation production, promising high-quality animation and intense fight sequences. The directorial team includes Fumihiko Suganuma and Hiroshi Seko handling series composition, with Satoshi Ishino as character designer and chief animation director. This robust production team aims to translate the manga’s gritty and energetic style to the screen, elevating the dystopian fantasy with compelling visuals and storytelling.
