Kadokawa has unveiled a wealth of new details for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Yawora Tsugumi’s dark workplace comedy manga, Gōmon Baito-kun no Nichijō (The Everyday Life of Torture Part-Time Workers). The series is officially set to premiere on January 4, 2026, and will introduce additional cast members and theme song artists. A new promotional video and visual accompanied these announcements, building anticipation for the unique take on daily working life.

Premiere Date and Broadcast Information

The Gōmon Baito-kun no Nichijō anime is slated for a January 4, 2026 debut. It will first stream in Japan on U-NEXT, Anime Hōdai, and ABEMA on January 4 at 24:00 JST (effectively January 5 at 12 midnight JST). Following the streaming premiere, it will air on Tokyo MX on January 4 at 24:30 JST, and on BS Asahi at 25:30 JST. TV Aichi will broadcast the series on January 5, and Yomiuri TV will follow on January 6. Previously, the anime was announced for a Winter 2026 broadcast.

Expanding the Voice Cast

The anime has expanded its already announced cast, adding several new voices to the eccentric ensemble. Joining the previously revealed main characters are:

  • Kishō Taniyama as Hela
  • Rikuya Yasuda as Noe
  • Nozomi Yamamoto as Berta, the 28-year-old owner of the torture equipment shop “dolor”
  • Kozue Yūki as Reu, Shiu’s 7-year-old daughter and older twin sister
  • Satsuki Hatori as Nero, Shiu’s younger twin daughter
  • Tomohiro Ōno as Fon, a junk dealer specializing in post-torture disposals with a dark network

These new cast members will join the core quartet previously announced:

  • Shunichi Toki as Cero
  • Takuma Terashima as Shiu
  • Takuma Nagatsuka as Mikke (Mike)
  • Yōhei Azakami as Hugh

Character promotional videos featuring character songs for Cero, Shiu, Mikke, Hugh, Hela, and Noe are scheduled to be released between December 15 and January 17.

Theme Song Artists Revealed

Music will play a significant role in setting the tone for this unique comedy. GRANRODEO will perform the anime’s opening theme song, “GO GO PARADISE!!”. The ending theme song, titled “Ashita Tenki ni Naare,” will be performed by Takuma Terashima, who also voices the character Shiu. A preview of the opening theme was included in the latest promotional video. The music for the series is composed by Kenji Fujisawa (Team-MAX), with music production handled by Lantis.

The World of Gōmon Baito-kun no Nichijō

A Dark Comedy Premise

The anime adapts Yawora Tsugumi’s manga, which presents a world where murder and torture are legal and commonplace. Amidst this unusual societal backdrop, “torture contract companies” thrive. The story centers on the “Spirytus” company, known for its ethical approach of only targeting “bad people” and, unusually, for treating its employees exceptionally well.

The Spirytus Team

The narrative follows Cero and Shiu, two part-time workers at Spirytus, as they navigate their daily lives filled with torture-related duties. Their team expands with the addition of two new part-time hires, Mikke and Hugh, and the series explores their “torture-working life” with a comedic and slice-of-life approach. The manga’s unique blend of a relaxed, homely workplace environment with the brutal reality of torture has garnered a dedicated readership.

Production Team

The anime adaptation is being produced by the studio diomedéa. Leading the production is Director Fumitoshi Oizaki. Hitomi Amamiya is responsible for the series composition, while Sakae Shibuya handles the character designs. The sound director is Yayoi Tateishi, with sound effects by Yoko Sakurai, and sound production by Bit Grooove Promotion. Other key staff include Seo Gu Lee as Art Director, Yuki Shiina as Director of Photography, Saori Tachimatsu for Color Design, and Toshihiko Kojima for Editing.

Manga Background

Gōmon Baito-kun no Nichijō originated as a manga series written and illustrated by Yawora Tsugumi. It began serialization on Hakusensha’s Young Animal Web and Manga Park services in December 2022. As of June 2025, six tankōbon volumes have been compiled, with the seventh volume scheduled for release on December 25.
