Meet the Main Characters and Their Voice Actors
The “I Want to End This Love Game” anime centers on the playful yet complicated relationship between its two leads.
Yukiya Asagi (Voiced by Kaito Ishikawa)
Kaito Ishikawa, known for his roles as Jin in “DAN DA DAN,” lends his voice to Yukiya Asagi. Yukiya, initially a quiet nerd, undergoes a glow-up with the ultimate goal of captivating his best friend, Miku. His tactics often involve using elements from Miku’s favorite shojo manga. Despite his outward confidence in the “love game,” he harbors genuine feelings for Miku and can be an introvert, often finding it difficult to talk to other girls.
Miku Sakura (Voiced by Miku Ito)
Miku Ito, recognized for her portrayal of Miku in “The Quintessential Quintuplets,” voices Miku Sakura. Miku, Yukiya’s childhood friend, has been playing the “love game” with him since sixth grade. She enjoys teasing Yukiya and has secretly held feelings for him since childhood. The game, initially a simple competition, has evolved into a way for them to express their deepening emotions while fearing the potential end of their closeness if the game concludes.

The “Love Game” Premise
The story originates from Yuki Domoto’s web manga, which began serialization on Shogakukan’s online platform Sunday Webry in December 2021. The manga explores the dynamic between Yukiya and Miku, who, as childhood friends, started a “love game” where the first one to get flustered after saying “I love you” loses. Four years later, even in high school, the game continues, but both have secretly developed feelings for each other. They use the game as an excuse to get closer, yet both fear that confessing their true feelings might bring an end to their unique bond.
Viz Media is releasing the manga in English, describing the premise as Yukiya’s attempt to win over Miku, his best friend, using tactics inspired by shojo manga. The series is anticipated to deliver a heartwarming blend of humor and drama, characteristic of high school romance stories.
