Fans of Masashi Kishimoto’s iconic Naruto series can mark their calendars for 2026, as the beloved ninja franchise is set to open a dedicated theme park area, “Naruto – Konoha Land,” in France. This immersive expansion will be located within Parc Spirou Provence in Monteux, southern France, promising to transport visitors directly into the Hidden Leaf Village.
Stepping into the Hidden Leaf Village
“Naruto – Konoha Land” is designed to faithfully recreate key locations and experiences from the anime and manga. Spanning approximately 1.5 hectares (around 3.7 acres or 15,000 square meters), the area will feature meticulously detailed landmarks such as the Konoha Gate, the Chunin Exam Arena, Hokage Rock, and the Hokage Office. Visitors will also find Team Kakashi’s training logs and can dine at recreations of Ichiraku Ramen and a traditional dango shop, complete with themed menus. Ten life-sized character statues will be installed throughout the land, offering fans unique photo opportunities with their favorite ninja.
Thrilling Attractions for Ninja-in-Training
The new theme park area will boast several exclusive attractions designed to immerse guests in the Naruto universe.
Kyubi Unchained Roller Coaster
Headlining the attractions is “Kyubi Unchained,” a roller coaster inspired by the Nine-Tailed Fox. This ride will feature a track length of over one kilometer, reach top speeds of 75 kilometers per hour, include a 30-meter drop, and even incorporate a backward section, allowing riders to experience the intensity of a battle against the formidable Nine-Tails. Italian manufacturer Zamperla is behind this Family Thrill Launch Coaster.
Rasengan Chakra Rotation
Another highlight is the “Rasengan Chakra Rotation” attraction, which consists of four rotating arms supporting 32 gondolas. This ride is intended to give visitors a thrilling taste of intense chakra training. A Zamperla NebulaZ ride will also be featured.
A Major Milestone for European Anime Fans
The development of “Naruto – Konoha Land” marks a significant milestone as the first Naruto-themed area of its kind in Europe. This ambitious project has been in the works for over four years, with Parc Spirou collaborating closely with anime license holders Mediatoon, Studio Pierrot, Shueisha, and TV Tokyo to ensure an authentic and immersive experience.
Hervé Lux, director of Parc Spirou en Provence, expressed immense joy and honor in bringing the Naruto universe to life, emphasizing the goal of offering the most immersive theme park experience possible. A representative of the Media Participations Group, which has distributed Naruto in France for over two decades, highlighted the anime’s profound influence on French culture and the desire to provide an unforgettable adventure for fans worldwide.
Construction on the 15,000 square meter expansion is already underway, with the official announcement being made on the Naruto franchise’s official website and X (formerly Twitter) account. While an exact opening date in 2026 has not yet been revealed, the project was first unveiled at the Naruto Shippuden Symphonie Experience cine-concert in Paris in October 2024, generating considerable excitement among fans. This expansion is expected to significantly boost Parc Spirou Provence’s appeal, especially given France’s strong market for manga and anime.
