The Story of ‘There Was a Cute Girl in the Hero’s Party, So I Tried Confessing to Her’
The fantasy romantic comedy follows Yōki, a man who, after dying in a traffic accident, is reincarnated as a powerful demon in another world. Despite his new form, Yōki has no desire to become a Demon Lord and instead works as a low-ranking guardian in the Demon Lord’s castle. His life takes an unexpected turn when a hero’s party invades the castle, and he falls in love at first sight with the party’s kind and beautiful priestess, Cecilia. The series chronicles Yōki’s unusual attempts to confess his feelings to Cecilia, initiating a unique relationship between the demon and the priestess.
The original light novel series by Suisei began serialization on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in July 2013, with Futabasha publishing print volumes under its Monster Bunko imprint between October 2014 and August 2015. Kairi’s manga adaptation, which began in Manga Gaugau in January 2021, is credited as the original work for the anime.
