SPY×FAMILY Season 3 officially wrapped up its 13-episode run on December 27, 2025, bringing another chapter of the Forger family’s espionage and domestic adventures to a close. The highly anticipated season, which began airing on October 4, 2025, delivered a blend of heartwarming moments, comedic escapades, and intense spy action. However, as the credits rolled on the finale, fans were met with an unexpected development: no immediate announcement for a fourth season.

A Season of Intrigue and Family Bonds

SPY×FAMILY Season 3, produced by Wit Studio and CloverWorks, continued to follow master spy Loid Forger (Twilight), his assassin wife Yor, telepathic daughter Anya, and precognitive dog Bond as they navigated their intertwined secret lives. This season consisted of 13 episodes, picking up with “Mission 38” and concluding with “Mission 50”. The season introduced Yukiko Imai as the new director, with the rest of the staff and beloved voice cast reprising their roles.

The narrative of Season 3 delved into significant manga arcs, enriching the characters’ backstories and developing key relationships. Among the adapted storylines were Loid’s tragic past, the “Friendship Schemes Arc” which saw Yor befriending Melinda Desmond, and the thrilling “Bus Hijacking Arc.” The season concluded in the midst of the “Wheeler Arc,” leaving viewers eager for the resolution of the mole hunt involving intelligence agents from both Westalis and Ostania.

The opening theme for the season was “Hi o Mamoru” by Spitz, while the ending theme was “Actor” by Lilas Ikuta. For international audiences outside of Asia, the season was licensed for streaming by Crunchyroll, with new episodes releasing weekly on Saturdays.

The Finale and the Road Ahead

The final episode of SPY×FAMILY Season 3, airing on December 27, 2025, marked the end of the current animated installment. Typically, popular anime series often announce their next season shortly after a finale, capitalizing on fan excitement. However, this was not the case for SPY×FAMILY.

Instead of a Season 4 confirmation, the official SPY×FAMILY anime social media channels announced a large-scale special event titled “Extra Mission II,” scheduled for November 8, 2026. This event will feature the main Japanese voice cast, including Takuya Eguchi (Loid Forger), Atsumi Tanezaki (Anya Forger), Saori Hayami (Yor Forger), and Kenichirou Matsuda (Bond Forger), among others. A similar event took place in June 2024, where Season 3 was initially announced.

What the Delay Could Mean for Season 4

The lack of an immediate Season 4 announcement has led to speculation among fans regarding the future of the anime. While disappointing for those hoping for a swift continuation, this delay could provide the animation studios, Wit Studio and CloverWorks, ample time to produce a high-quality adaptation. The studios are known for their meticulous animation, and allowing a longer production window could ensure the next season maintains the series’ acclaimed visual standards.

The manga, written by Tatsuya Endo, continues to be serialized on Shōnen Jump+, offering a steady stream of source material for future anime adaptations. Fans will be closely watching the “Extra Mission II” event in November 2026, as it is widely anticipated to be the platform where any potential announcements regarding SPY×FAMILY Season 4 or other future projects might be made. Until then, the Forger family’s next mission remains shrouded in mystery.
