Aki Akimoto’s romantic comedy manga series, Mechanical Marie+ (Kikaijikake no Marie+), officially concluded its serialization in Hakusensha’s LaLa magazine on December 24, 2025. The final chapter appeared in the magazine’s February issue. The sequel series will see its second and final collected tankōbon volume ship on March 5.

The End of a Sweet Sequel

Mechanical Marie+ continued the charming story of a human maid pretending to be a robot, protecting her misanthropic master. The sequel series focused on the maid-and-master couple during their honeymoon, delivering a definitive conclusion for fans. It began its serialization in LaLa on April 24, 2025, following the successful run of its predecessor.

A Brief History of Mechanical Marie

The journey of Mechanical Marie began as a one-shot in LaLa magazine in March 2020. Its popularity led to a full serialization from June 2020 to June 2023, resulting in six tankōbon volumes. Yen Press has licensed the original Mechanical Marie series for English publication, with the first volume released on August 26 and the second slated for February 24.

The original manga series also inspired an anime television adaptation, which aired from October to December 2025. The anime series, produced by Zero-G and Liber, and directed by Junji Nishimura, adapted the entirety of the first Mechanical Marie manga. It featured a cast including Nao Toyama as Marie and Haruki Ishiya as Arthur, concluding with 12 episodes.

The conclusion of Mechanical Marie+ marks the end of Aki Akimoto’s beloved romantic comedy saga, leaving fans with a complete story across both manga series and an anime adaptation.
