The highly anticipated anime adaptation of I Became a Legend After My 10 Year-Long Last Stand, also known as Koko wa Ore ni Makasete Saki ni Ike to Ittekara 10-nen ga Tattara Densetsu ni Natteita, is officially set to premiere in 2026. The production has recently released a teaser video, alongside announcements regarding additional cast members and key staff, building excitement among fans for the fantasy series.
A Decade-Long Stand Comes to Life
The anime is based on the popular light novel series penned by Gingitsune Ezo and illustrated by DeeCHA, which originally began as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro platform. The story follows Luck, a wizard who makes the ultimate sacrifice, holding off an endless horde of demons for ten years to allow his comrades to escape. Miraculously, he survives, only to return to a world where he is considered a mythical legend, facing the new challenge of adapting to a world that has moved on without him and finding a new purpose.
The Creative Team Behind the Adaptation
Helming the adaptation is director Hiroyuki Kanbe, known for his work on series such as Plunderer and Viper’s Creed. Studio Gekkou will be handling the animation production. Mitsutaka Hirota, recognized for his contributions to Edens Zero and Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time, is in charge of the series composition, ensuring a faithful and engaging narrative. Character designs are being managed by Majiro, whose previous works include Macross Delta and Salaryman’s Club.
Voice Cast Brings Legends to Life
The core cast bringing the beloved characters to life includes several prominent voice actors. Gakuto Kajiwara, known for his role as Shinra in Fire Force, will voice the protagonist, Luck Lock Franzen. Toshiyuki Morikawa, who played Paul in Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, is cast as Eric Imgard Mendirival. Rounding out the initial main trio is Tsuyoshi Koyama, known as Gunther in Ascendance of a Bookworm, portraying Goran Morton.
New Additions to the Ensemble
Further expanding the cast, two additional voice actors have been announced. Yui Ishikawa has joined to voice Celiss Morton, Goran’s daughter, who is an F-rank warrior possessing combat skills equivalent to a B-rank. Mayu Sagara will portray Sia Wolcott, a formidable warrior from the wolf beastkin tribe.
