Seeking a quiet, relaxed life, he accepts a teaching position in the mountains, only to discover that his new workplace is an all-girls school specifically for demi-humans. These students, who include mermaids, werewolves, rabbits, and birds, are all aspiring to become “full-fledged human beings.” Hitoma’s unexpected role is to educate them about humankind, a journey during which he may also learn about himself.
