Titan Manga is set to release Nahato, Kazutomo Miya, and Shinichirō Nariie’s manga, “The One. Later On…” in English on March 31, 2026. Manga enthusiasts can pre-order the first volume from Forbidden Planet in the U.K. and other North American retailers.
From Light Novel to Manga: A Tale of Rejection and Renewal
“The One. Later On…” follows Wazu, whose life takes an unexpected turn after being dismissed from the hero’s party and leaving his hometown. He dedicates two years to rigorous training in the mountains. Returning stronger, he discovers that his childhood friend, Aria, is now engaged to the hero who once scorned him. This sets Wazu on a journey filled with misunderstandings, new relationships, and the search for his place in a changed world.
The manga is adapted from Nahato and Kazutomo Miya’s light novel series, which debuted on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in September 2015 and concluded in August 2016. Earth Star Entertainment published the novel series in 12 main volumes and one spinoff volume. Shinichirō Nariie launched the manga adaptation in August 2018, with Earth Star Entertainment publishing the sixth volume in November 2022.
Shinichirō Nariie: A Versatile Artist
Shinichirō Nariie’s works include “See You Tomorrow at the Food Court,” which launched on Kadokawa’s Comic Newtype web manga site in March 2020 and will have a television anime adaptation in July. Nariie also created a manga adaptation of Takumi Hiiragi-Boshi’s “Absolute Duo” light novel series in Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Alive magazine from July 2013 to July 2017, spanning four volumes. Seven Seas has released “Absolute Duo” in English.
