The highly anticipated TV anime adaptation of Touya and chibi’s light novel series, “A Tale of the Secret Saint” (Tensei Shita Daiseijo wa, Seijo de Aru Koto wo Hitakakusu), officially unveiled its main staff and confirmed a 2026 debut in a new teaser promotional video released at the “Earth Star Novels 10th Anniversary Summer Festival” event.

The announcement provides key details for fans eagerly awaiting the adaptation of the popular fantasy series.

Key Production Team Revealed

FelixFilm will be handling the animation production for “A Tale of the Secret Saint.” Leading the directorial team is Tomoe Makino, known for her work on “Aharen-san wa Hakarenai” and “Woodpecker Detective’s Office.” She will be joined by Naoki Murata as the assistant director.

The series scripts will be overseen by Deko Akao, who has previously worked on notable titles such as “Higehiro,” “Komi Can’t Communicate,” and “Flying Witch.” Character designs are being handled by Satomi Kurita, recognized for “Dahlia in Bloom: Crafting a Fresh Start With Magical Tools” and “Princess Connect! Re:Dive.” The musical score will be composed by Kenichiro Suehiro, celebrated for his contributions to the “Golden Kamuy” and “Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-” franchises. Ryōsuke Naya, known for “Spy Classroom” and “Summer Pockets,” is serving as the sound director.

Confirmed Voice Cast

The main voice cast for the anime has also been confirmed. Shion Wakayama will voice the protagonist, Fia Ruud. Joining her are Shinnosuke Tokudome as Zavilia, Yuichiro Umehara as Saviz Náv, and Nobunaga Shimazaki as Cyril Sutherland. Their voices can be heard in the recently released teaser trailer.

The Story of “A Tale of the Secret Saint”

“A Tale of the Secret Saint” follows Fia, who is born into a lineage of knights and aspires to follow in their footsteps. However, a near-death experience triggers memories of her past life as a powerful Saint who defeated the Demon King. This awakening also grants her access to formidable healing and protection magic, considered “lost magic” in her current era.

Crucially, Fia also recalls her untimely death in her previous life and the inherent dangers of being a Saint. She resolves to keep her newfound powers a secret and remain on her path to knighthood, determined to avoid a similar tragic fate. The light novel series, written by Touya and illustrated by chibi, first began serialization online in January 2019 and has since been published in print by Earth Star Entertainment. Both the light novel and its manga adaptation, illustrated by Mahito Aobe, are licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. A prequel light novel series and its manga adaptation are also available.
