The light novel series, which began serialization in 2021 under KADOKAWA’s Dengeki Bunko imprint, delves into a narrative where divine agents and their bodyguards are tasked with circulating the four seasons throughout the world. A manga adaptation by Nappa Komatsuda is also ongoing in LaLa magazine.

The Narrative Premise
The story of “Agents of the Four Seasons” centers on the concept of individuals who wield special powers granted by the gods to maintain the cycle of seasons. The “Dance of Spring” specifically focuses on Kayō Hinagiku, the Agent of Spring, who disappeared for ten years, causing spring to vanish from the land. Her loyal bodyguard, Sakura Himedaka, embarks on a tireless search, and the narrative unfolds with Hinagiku’s unexpected return, setting the stage for a journey of loss and renewal as they work to restore the proper seasonal cycle. The English publisher, Yen Press, describes the overarching plot, which begins with Winter creating Spring, and the subsequent birth of Summer and Autumn, all carried by the Agents of the Four Seasons.
While no specific release date for the anime has been confirmed as of yet, the continuous release of new visuals and promotional material indicates that production is well underway, building anticipation among fans.
