Anime.com, the digital streaming and community platform, has announced it will stream the highly anticipated TV anime spinoff, GINTAMA – Mr. Ginpachi’s Zany Class (3-Nen Z-Gumi Ginpachi-Sensei), for free through weekly watch parties. The series is set to premiere on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. EDT, in a partnership with TV Tokyo.
This initiative marks a significant move for Anime.com, which aims to enhance fan engagement through interactive experiences and community-focused events. Fans of the beloved Gintama franchise will have the opportunity to experience the new comedic series alongside other viewers, complete with character stickers, custom avatars, emotes, and digital collectible blind boxes for attendees.
What is GINTAMA – Mr. Ginpachi’s Zany Class?
GINTAMA – Mr. Ginpachi’s Zany Class is an anime adaptation of Tomohito Ōsaki’s spinoff novel series, which is itself based on Hideaki Sorachi’s iconic Gintama manga. The new series offers a humorous twist on the familiar universe, reimagining Gintoki Sakata as “Ginpachi-sensei,” a not-so-typical teacher leading a chaotic homeroom class filled with beloved Gintama characters now in high school.
The anime promises to deliver the signature fourth-wall-breaking comedy and over-the-top antics that Gintama fans have come to expect. The world premiere of the anime was held earlier this year on July 5 at Anime Expo 2025.
Key Details and Production
The series is directed by Natsumi Higashida with Makoto Moriwaki serving as general director at BN Pictures. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu and Mitei Mark II are handling the series composition, ensuring a narrative flow that captures the essence of the original novels. Shinji Takeuchi, known for his work on the main Gintama series, returns as the chief animation director. Audio Highs, also from the Gintama team, is composing the music.
The opening theme song, “Sakurakaze” (Cherry Blossom Wind), is performed by virtual YouTuber Botchi Boromaru, while LONGMAN performs the ending theme song, “Underclass HERO.”
