Aniplex USA has officially announced the English dub cast for the highly anticipated anime special, Fate/Strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn-. The reveal brings a new dimension to the Holy Grail War unfolding in the American city of Snowfield, with a talented lineup of voice actors stepping into the roles of Masters and Servants. The special is a prologue to the upcoming Fate/Strange Fake TV anime series, which is set to begin airing weekly in January 2026.

A Star-Studded English Voice Cast for Snowfield’s War

The English dub features a roster of experienced voice actors, bringing to life the diverse characters of Ryohgo Narita’s intricate Fate universe. Anjali Kunapaneni takes on the role of Ayaka Sajyou, with Ben Balmaceda voicing Saber. Dani Chambers is cast as Tiné Chelc, David Vincent as Archer, and Marin Miller as Lancer.

Other key cast members include:

  • Christopher Wehkamp as Orlando Reeve
  • Clifford Chapin as Jester Karture
  • David W. Collins as Langal
  • Deneen Melody as Francesca Prelati
  • Frank Todaro as Caster/Alexandre Dumas
  • Jeannie Tirado as Assassin
  • Joe J. Thomas as Berserker/Jack the Ripper
  • Khoi Dao as Flat Escardos
  • Kimberley Anne Campbell as Tsubaki Kuruoka
  • Lucien Dodge as Lord El-Melloi II
  • Micah Solusod as Faldeus Dioland
  • Kevin Andrew Rivera as Hansa Cervantes

The English dub was produced by Aniplex of America and Bang Zoom! Entertainment, with Tony Oliver serving as the voice director.

Fate/Strange Fake: A Twisted Holy Grail War in the USA

The Fate/Strange Fake narrative originated as an April Fool’s joke by Ryohgo Narita before evolving into a light novel series and manga. The story deviates from the traditional Holy Grail Wars seen in other Fate titles, setting its chaotic events in Snowfield, a city in the western United States.

This particular Holy Grail War is described as a “false” or “imitation” war, faulty in its replication of the Fuyuki system. This imperfection leads to unusual circumstances, such as the exclusion of the Saber class and the summoning of “strange Servants” due to a blurred definition of what constitutes a “hero.” The plot follows an American organization that, after the Third Holy Grail War in Fuyuki, attempts to perform their own ritual using collected data, leading to a unique and unpredictable conflict.

From Special to Series: The Anime’s Journey

Fate/Strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn- initially premiered as an anime television special, first showcased in Los Angeles at Anime Expo on July 1, 2023, before its Japanese television premiere on July 2. This special acts as a prologue to the full television anime series. The series itself, animated by A-1 Pictures, was originally planned for 2025 but was subsequently delayed, with weekly streaming on Crunchyroll now confirmed to begin on January 3, 2026. Aniplex of America has been actively promoting the series, including offering free screenings of the English-subtitled episodes 1-4 at select Alamo Drafthouse locations in December 2025.
