Japanese artist ano has been revealed as the performer of the theme song for the upcoming Me & Roboco anime film. The film, based on the popular comedy manga by Shuhei Miyazaki, is set to premiere in Japan on April 18, 2025.
“Lolilokkyun Robo❤” to be Performed by ano
The theme song, titled “Lolilokkyun Robo❤,” will be performed by ano, a versatile artist known for her work as a singer, model, actress, and television host. She began her career with the idol group You’ll Melt More, before launching her solo career in late 2020. In August 2021, ano also formed the band I’s, where she served as vocalist and guitarist until the band’s disbandment in 2024.
ano Comments on the Collaboration
ano expressed her excitement about the collaboration, stating, “I have written a new theme song for Me & Roboco. I hope you will look forward to hearing how the song blends with the comical and charming world of Roboco! I think you will enjoy an ano like never before. I myself was imagining it being played in movie theaters while writing the song, so I am looking forward to the release. I hope everyone will go to the theater to see and listen to it.”
Me & Roboco Film Details
Me & Roboco is a comedy manga series by Shuhei Miyazaki, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 2020. Viz Media publishes the manga in English. The story is set in a future where maid robots are commonplace. It follows the daily life of Roboco, an unconventional maid robot, and Bondo, a kind-hearted boy.
Film Premise
The anime film will feature an original story based on the “Multiverse and Roboco” episode, where Robocos from various world lines come together.
Film Staff
Akitaro Daichi, known for his work on 2001 Fruits Basket, Ninja Girl & Samurai Master, and Kodocha, returns to direct the film at Studio Gallop. Sayuri Ooba is handling the scripts, and Yuko Ebara is the character designer.
Multiverse Cast
The film features a “multiverse” storyline with different versions of Roboco:
- Mayumi Tanaka: Roboco from a “straightforward battle world line.”
- Masako Nozawa: Roboco “from a Showa-era gag manga worldline,” inspired by comedy manga from the mid-20th century.
- Sumire Uesaka: Roboco “from a romantic comedy worldline.”
- Shigeru Chiba: Roboco “from a classic sci-fi action worldline” where war between humans and robots has caused destruction.
- Shun Matsuo: Continues to play the “normal” Roboco.
AnimeJapan 2025 Stage Event
The Me & Roboco film will have a special stage at the AnimeJapan 2025 event on March 22, with ano making a guest appearance.
Release Information
The Me & Roboco anime film is set to hit theaters in Japan on April 18, 2025. The film was initially delayed from winter 2024 to improve its quality.
