The highly anticipated second season of the anime adaptation of Haruka Mitsui’s popular shojo manga, ‘Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You’ (Dōse, Koishite Shimaunda.), has officially revealed its theme song artists. Girl group ME:I will perform the opening theme, “L to R,” while the band berry meet will handle the ending theme, titled “Hatsukoi” (First Love). The new season is set to premiere in January 2026.

New Musical Direction for the Second Season

The announcement marks a fresh musical direction for the beloved romantic comedy series. ME:I, a rising girl group, will bring their energetic sound to the opening sequence with “L to R.” Meanwhile, berry meet is set to provide the emotional closure for each episode with “Hatsukoi.” These new themes aim to complement the ongoing romantic entanglements and character developments anticipated in the upcoming season.

ME:I Takes on Opening Theme “L to R”

ME:I, a girl group gaining traction in the music scene, will be contributing the opening track “L to R.” The choice of ME:I suggests an upbeat and engaging start to each episode, likely reflecting the vibrant and often humorous situations the protagonist, Mizuho Nishino, finds herself in. Details about the song’s specific sound or lyrical themes are eagerly awaited by fans.

berry meet to Perform Ending Theme “Hatsukoi”

The ending theme, “Hatsukoi” (meaning “First Love”), will be performed by the band berry meet. This title perfectly aligns with the central themes of the ‘Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You’ manga, which delves into the complexities of young love, friendships, and self-discovery. The ending theme often serves to encapsulate the emotional journey of the characters, and berry meet’s contribution is expected to resonate with the heartfelt moments of the series.

A Look Back at Season 1’s Musical Contributions

The first season of ‘Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You’, which premiered in January 2025, featured notable artists for its theme songs as well. The opening theme for the inaugural season was “Make It Count” by the boy group INI. The ending theme for the first season was “Negaigoto” (Wish) performed by the rock band Marcy. Both songs played a significant role in establishing the tone and atmosphere of the initial adaptation.

Production Details and Upcoming Premiere

The anime continues to be produced by Typhoon Graphics, with Junichi Yamamoto returning as director. Yu Murai is also back to oversee the series scripts, ensuring continuity in the narrative and character portrayal. Fans can anticipate the return of the familiar animation style and storytelling that brought Haruka Mitsui’s manga to life. Crunchyroll has been streaming the series and is expected to continue doing so for the second season.

The second season of ‘Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You’ is poised to expand on Mizuho’s journey as she navigates her relationships and feelings, with ME:I and berry meet providing the fresh musical backdrop for her continuing story. The January 2026 premiere date sets the stage for another season of charming romance and emotional depth.
